... grew up and attended college in Oregon, receiving a B.S.-cum laude in 1984 with a major in psychology. Four years later he was graduated from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University, Ft. Worth, Texas with a Master of Divinity degree. The following year he was ordained as a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). During his time in college and seminary Warren worked in various fields as a rock-climbing instructor, mountaineering guide, prison guard, chauffeur, youth minister, and dairy/produce manager for a grocery store.
After graduate seminary, Warren served local pastorates in Illinois, Washington state and Montana until August 2002, when he became Executive Minister for the Office of Christian Vocations at Disciples Home Missions (DHM) in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Throughout his vocational ministry, Warren also served in many regional capacities and for various community organizations, including on Habitat for Humanities affiliate boards, in local hospice programs, as a volunteer fireman and local ambulance driver. He has also been active in Buddhist-Christian dialogues, and other inter-religious endeavors.
Warren holds deep passion for initial and ongoing formation of Spiritual leaders. His personal interests include Celtic and environmental spiritualities, fly fishing, sea-kayaking, mindfulness practice, gardening, and cooking. As, both, hobbies and spiritual practices, Warren plays Native American style flute and is an active participant in the Indiana Flute Circle, and also enjoys contemplative photography and birding. He is an active Advanced Certified labyrinth facilitator at local and national levels, former member of The Veriditas Council, partnering-creator of the Global Healing Response Network, developer of the Story Path Labyrinth, and loves teaching others about the transformative power of the labyrinth.
